GLOBAL sustainable infrastructure firm Acciona is entering the Philippine integrated facilities management (IFM) market through a joint venture with Aboitiz Construction Inc., expanding the Aboitiz Group engineering arm’s services into a broader facilities and asset management platform.
The new company, Acciona Facility Management Philippines, will provide integrated facilities management services to clients in the Philippines, combining Acciona’s international experience with Aboitiz Construction’s local presence and five decades of engineering experience.
The joint venture will serve high-value and technically demanding sectors, including pharmaceuticals, industrial facilities, corporate environments, and transport infrastructure.
Its services will cover maintenance and technical services, business process outsourcing (BPO), logistics, support services, and cleaning and housekeeping.
For Aboitiz Construction, the partnership provides an avenue to expand its facilities management business beyond its established construction and engineering operations.
“Partnering with Acciona combines our strong local presence and 50 years of engineering experience with global expertise in integrated facilities management to deliver world-class solutions in the Philippines,” Aboitiz Construction President and Chairman Anton Mari Perdices said.
For Acciona, the joint venture marks its entry into the Philippine IFM market and adds to its presence in Southeast Asia.
“The Philippines is a strategic market for Acciona and an important hub for our presence in Asia,” Acciona Southeast Asia Infrastructure Managing Director Ruben Camba said.
Acciona said it has facilities management operations and projects across 10 countries, while Aboitiz Construction brings experience in infrastructure, industrial maintenance, and facilities and asset management.
For his part, Aboitiz Construction Executive Director Antonio Peñalver said the company chose Acciona based on its facilities management capabilities and international expansion experience, as well as the alignment between the two companies’ values and business practices.
The companies said the joint venture aims to develop a scalable nationwide IFM platform as demand for integrated facility operations and asset management grows in the country.
