ACEN Corp., the clean energy arm of conglomerate Ayala Corp., on Monday said that it had completed the 60-megawatt San Manuel Solar project in Pangasinan, further expanding its footprint in Northern Luzon.

The project formed part of a strategic expansion following the company’s acquisition of Sinocalan Solar Power Corp. in December 2022, which paved the way for the development of the San Manuel facility.

ACEN told the stock exchange that with 108,752 solar panels installed, San Manuel Solar would generate approximately 94 gigawatt-hours of renewable electricity annually, enough to meet the energy needs of around 55,000 households.

This is equivalent to avoiding more than 58,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions, the company added.

The solar farm utilizes ground-mounted photovoltaic panels and is directly connected to the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines via a dedicated 1.8-kilometer transmission line.

ACEN shares on Monday added P0.01 to close at P3.06 apiece.
