Acer Malaysia announced an updated lineup of gaming monitors, introducing the Predator X27U F5, Predator X34 X5, and the Nitro KG3 series featuring 23.8-inch and 27-inch variants. With the exception of 27-inch KG73U P1, all models are now available to purchase nationwide.

First up, the Predator X27U F5 features a 26.5-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) OLED display with a refresh rate of up to 500Hz, which has a rather big caveat: with DFR (Dynamic Frequency and Resolution), the monitor’s native resolution will only output a mere 60Hz refresh rate, which is admittedly terrible for gaming. To use the full 500Hz refresh rate, the monitor must be operating at FHD resolution (1920 x 1080), and we do suspect the lack of integer scaling will make this 1080p blurrier than usual.

In any case, the monitor supports 99% DCI-P3 color gamut with Delta-E <2, making this monitor suitable for color-critical work; it also features VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro certifications. The monitor’s I/O includes a pair of HDMI 2.1 ports, two DisplayPort 1.4 ports, and one USB-C port with 65W power delivery support. It’s now available at RM2,899.

The second Predator model announced is the Predator X34 X5, featuring a 34-inch ultrawide QHD (3440 x 1440) 240Hz OLED panel with an 1800R curvature. Similarly, it also supports 99% DCI-P3 coverage with Delta-E <1, along with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible certifications. It’s got two HDMI 2.1 ports, plus one DisplayPort and USB-C port each – the latter supporting 90W power delivery. Pricing-wise, Acer says this monitor costs RM3,499 apiece.

Nitro KG3 Series

Moving on to the Nitro lineup, the new KG3 series feature QHD IPS panels available in 23.8-inch (KG243YU P1) and 27-inch (KG273U P1) sizes, both offering a 144Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time. Acer positions this lineup towards multi-monitor setups thanks to its 7.2mm slim design and narrow bezels, and both models get HDR10 as well as AMD FreeSync support. Additional features include dual 1-watt speakers onboard, -2° to +13° tilt adjustment, and compatibility with 75x75mm VESA mounting.

Acer says the Nitro KG243YU P1 is now available in Acer resellers and eStore, priced at RM479; meanwhile, the Nitro KG273U P1 will be priced at RM549 when it becomes available after 20 April 2026 (with pre-orders now live).

Pokdepinion: QHD at 60Hz is perhaps not it for gaming monitors in this day and age.
