Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini today issued directions to take action against an SDO for erecting electricity poles and a transformer right in the middle of an agricultural field passage in Bakali village.

The CM also instructed the SDM Ladwa to investigate the issue, and register FIR against the persons who threatened the complainant (the agricultural field owner).

Saini was listening to the public grievances during his Jan Samvad programme in Ladwa on Thursday. He directed the officials to resolve the public grievances on priority.

The Chief Minister listened to a total of 338 complaints. The complainants alleged that they were forced to make repeated rounds to get work done.

CM Saini said that the officials and employees who force common citizens to make repeated rounds of government offices will not be spared under any circumstances. He instructed officials and employees to ensure that whenever a citizen approaches them with a grievance, they must give them a patient hearing and resolve the complaint, and added that “No citizen should be compelled to make repeated rounds to the offices regarding the same complaint.”

During the Jan Samvad, a complainant stated that he had purchased 7 acres of land in Bakali a few years ago. Some people colluded with the SDO and got an electricity transformer and poles installed right across the path leading to his field. They were facing losses. He further alleged that he is now receiving death threats. The Chief Minister has issued directives to take appropriate action regarding this complaint.

The CM issued directions to the Education Department, Marketing board, PWD (B&R), Power Department, and police department on various complaints.

While issuing directives to officials of the Power Department, the Chief Minister stated that the replacement of the transformer at the farm of Balwinder Singh must be completed today itself. “A system in which any citizen is forced to make repeated rounds of the department for four months to resolve a grievance will not be tolerated,” he added.

The CM also directed the officials to install a new transformer to replace the stolen transformer belonging to Bhagat Singh, a resident of Muniarpur.

The Chief Minister informed that various projects have been initiated in Ladwa across infrastructure, social harmony, irrigation, healthcare, animal husbandry, sports and urban amenities. To accelerate the development of the Ladwa constituency, 74 CM announcements were made, of which 38 have been completed, while work on the remainder is currently underway.

The government has spent Rs 807 crore on development works in the Ladwa Assembly constituency over the last 11 years, whereas only Rs 310 crore was spent during the 10-year rule of the Congress party.

“The objective of the state government is to ensure the development of the state and to facilitate the upliftment of every citizen. The developmental works carried out in the Ladwa Assembly constituency over the recent past serve as proof that both the policy and the intent of the government are dedicated to the public interest,” he said.
