- Actor and writer Chris Langham, best known for starring in the BBC comedy series The Thick of It, has died from pancreatic cancer at the age of 77.

- Langham enjoyed a prolific career as a writer and performer, working on The Muppet Show and Not the Nine O'Clock News, and winning a Bafta award in 2006.
- He was convicted in 2007 for downloading child sexual abuse material, for which he served six months in prison and was placed on the sex offenders’ register.
- Following his release from prison, he worked sparingly on minor independent projects, with his final screen project released in 2020.
