Actor and sex offender Chris Langham dies of cancer

  • Actor and writer Chris Langham, best known for starring in the BBC comedy series The Thick of It, has died from pancreatic cancer at the age of 77.
  • His death on 24 June was confirmed via an obituary published in The Times.
  • Langham enjoyed a prolific career as a writer and performer, working on The Muppet Show and Not the Nine O'Clock News, and winning a Bafta award in 2006.
  • He was convicted in 2007 for downloading child sexual abuse material, for which he served six months in prison and was placed on the sex offenders’ register.
  • Following his release from prison, he worked sparingly on minor independent projects, with his final screen project released in 2020.
