ACTRESS Hayden Panettiere has died at the age of 36, according to confirmation from her representative to ABC News.
Her father, Skip Panettiere, paid tribute to the actress in a statement, describing her as a beloved daughter who brought joy and love to those around her and audiences worldwide.
“It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden. She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her — and to the millions who watched her onscreen,” he said.
No further details about her death were immediately available.
Panettiere began her career as a child actress before going on to establish herself in television and film.
She became widely known for playing cheerleader Claire Bennet in the hit television series Heroes and later starred as country singer Juliette Barnes in the musical drama series Nashville.
Her film credits included Remember the Titans, Raising Helen, Ice Princess and Scream 4.
Panettiere was also open about her experiences growing up in the entertainment industry and the challenges she faced throughout her life.
In May, she released her memoir, This Is Me: A Reckoning, in which she reflected on her personal experiences and struggles.
