Actress and husband investigated after retiree loses RM23,120 in alleged scam offering non-existent Datuk title

SEREMBAN: A female actress (pic) and her husband, previously detained over a suspected land fraud case, are now being investigated for allegedly cheating a victim of RM23,120 by offering a non-existent state award.

Seremban District Police Chief ACP Azahar Abdul Rahim said a report was lodged regarding the incident on 18 December last year.

The victim, a government retiree, was offered a state award carrying the title “Datuk”.

He then made six transaction payments from January to November 2025 involving that amount before realising he had been cheated.

Further investigation is being conducted under Section 420 of the Penal Code.

Media previously reported that the actress and her husband were remanded for three days, later extended by another day until today.

This was to assist investigations into a fraud case involving the sale of a non-existent land grant lot, which caused losses of RM1.5 million.
