
Kota Kinabalu: Sabahan singer and content creator Adam Shamil, renowned for his smash hit local tune “Mansau”, has been signed as a recording artist under a Kuala Lumpur-based record label.Under the label, dubbed WP Entertainment (WPE), Adam is slated to release his newest single “Bantu”, as an introductory song to Malaysia’s mass music industry, beyond Sabah’s borders.
A signing ceremony with WPE Managing Director Usaid Hamdi was held recently during Adam’s fan gathering to officially seal the deal, witnessed by some 200 fans and supporters.

Usaid said he discovered Adam through his online music collaborations with Daniesh Suffian, also a Sabahan recording artist from Tawau who is signed under the same label. “I saw the (music) covers online and Daniesh introduced him to me. When I met Adam I instantly became a fan, because I have never seen anyone work so hard to be successful. “He is committed, dedicated and I see excellence in his work, so it is actually an honor for us to sign him because I cannot believe the whole of Malaysia does not know him yet,” he said. Adam’s upcoming new single “Bantu” will be released on May 12 on WPE’s Youtube channel.
For the record, Adam released his first single “Bintang” in 2019, followed by “Mansau” (2020) and “Rindu” (2021). His local tune “Mansau” was his biggest hit, which amassed 15 million plays across all streaming platforms. Adam is also an emcee and social media influencer with a large fan base of over 659,000 followers across all social media platforms but he will be focusing on his musical craft in the near future.
