Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Government on Wednesday announced an additional public holiday on April 2 in observance of the official birthday of the Head of State.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said since the actual anniversary falls on Sunday (March 30), the following day (March 31) would typically be a public holiday.
However, as March 31 is already a designated public holiday, the State Government has decided to allocate April 2 as an extra holiday for Sabah.
“The State Government has determined that if the following day after the Head of State’s birthday is also a public holiday, then April 2, 2025 will be declared an additional holiday for Sabah, in accordance with the First Schedule of the Holidays Ordinance (Chapter 56),” he said in a statement.
