Kota Kinabalu: Loopholes in the anti-party hopping law which allow elected representatives to shift political allegiance without resigning from the party needs to be addressed, said Parti Warisan President Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.
The former Chief Minister said the law should be reviewed to prevent this “unhealthy culture” continuing.
Several Perikatan Nasional MPs have changed their political support but without leaving their party.
Shafie said these actions could be considered “defections” although the representatives had not switched parties.
