FOR generations, the FIFA World Cup has delivered football’s most unforgettable moments, and adidas has stood at the heart of them all.
From iconic match balls to legendary national kits worn by the world’s greatest players, adidas has continuously shaped not just the game, but the culture surrounding it.
As the road to FIFA World Cup 2026 begins, adidas Malaysia is bringing that same energy to Kuala Lumpur through one of its biggest football celebrations yet — transforming the city into a stage for football, fashion, creativity and fan expression.
Kicking off the celebration, the adidas Drone Show lit up the Kuala Lumpur skyline with a large-scale aerial spectacle set against the iconic backdrop of Merdeka 118 and Stadium Merdeka.
Combining synchronised drone choreography, light and motion, the show celebrated the passion, emotion and global energy of football. Fans who missed the first showcase on 23 May will still have the opportunity to catch the spectacle on 24 May as the celebration continues.

Featuring bold football-inspired visuals in the night sky — from the iconic Three Stripes and the FIFA World Cup 2026™ Trionda Official Match Ball, to the latest jerseys, player silhouettes, and head-to-head match-up moments inspired by the energy of the global game, the spectacle marked the beginning of adidas Malaysia’s FIFA World Cup™ campaign, bringing fans together in a shared moment of anticipation ahead of football’s biggest stage.
“Football has always been more than just a game for adidas. It’s culture, identity and community,” said Preston Page, Country Manager, adidas Malaysia.
“With World Cup 2026, we wanted to create experiences that bring fans closer to the energy of the tournament in a way that feels immersive, emotional and uniquely adidas. From the return of the iconic Trefoil on football’s biggest stage to the unveiling of the Trionda official match ball and our latest federation kits, this season represents a new era of football culture that we’re excited to bring to Malaysia,” Page added.
Adding to the excitement, adidas also introduced The Champions Stage which brings football competition into the digital arena through a high-energy esports tournament inspired by the intensity of the FIFA World Cup.
Held as part of the Home of World Cup experience, players will compete in a 1v1 tournament representing adidas-supported federations, battling through group stages and knockout rounds for the chance to be crowned champion.
Apart from blending football passion with gaming culture, The Champions Stage offers fans another way to connect with the game whether on the pitch, in the stands, or behind the controller.
The tournament will kick off on the group stage level, each consisting four players where they will compete in a round-robin format with only two top players advance to the knockout stage.
The quarter finals will bring together the top 16 players before the semi-finals played in a Best of 3 format. The grand final, which will be the ultimate showdown, also played in the Best of 3, where the winner is crowned champion.
Winners will walk away with exclusive rewards with RM1,500 adidas gift voucher and adidas keychain are offered to the first place winner.
