A controversy regarding the alleged doormats sold at Aeon BiG which feature the holy Kaaba image, has now been debunked by the hyper market itself.
A few days ago, the Johor State Islamic Affairs Department (JAINJ) had seized around 11 of the mats following a complaint on social media.
It’s believed that the individual(s) behind the complaint had mistaken the true nature of the product, which are actually MINI prayer mats.
Aeon BiG has since issued a statement to clarify the misunderstanding, noting that the supplier (A&R Fashion Collection) is in fact a Syariah-compliant SME that sells Islamic products.
