COACH operator Aeroline will suspend all trips, including services to and from Singapore, from November 6 to December 5 following a directive from the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD).
In a statement on Saturday (Nov 1), Aeroline said the suspension stems from its continued use of existing service points at Corus KLCC, 1 Utama, and Sunway Pyramid, rather than relocating operations to the centralised Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) in Kuala Lumpur as instructed.
“We wish to inform you, with sincere regret, that we have received a directive from APAD requiring us to temporarily suspend all scheduled trips.
This instruction is related to our continued use of our own service points … instead of relocating to TBS as directed,” the firm said.
APAD defended its actions, stating that the measures were intended to ensure passenger safety, reduce city centre traffic congestion, and support local authorities’ efforts to create a more organised and efficient urban environment.
“This action is intended to safeguard passengers, ease traffic flow in the city centre, and align with local authorities' initiatives to maintain order and safety in urban areas,” the agency said.
The agency had issued three Show-Cause Letters to Aeroline between March 13 and October 10, 2025, for repeated non-compliance with directives to operate from an approved terminal.
Aeroline said customers who have booked tickets during the suspension can choose to receive a full refund or hold their ticket for a later date.
The company is appealing the suspension and urged passengers not to direct frustration at the firm or the government.
“Should the suspension proceed, we will take the time to positively reflect … We hope it will give the government some time to realise the contribution Aeroline provides to society by enabling our passengers to experience seamless and convenient point-to-point journeys,” the company wrote.
The announcement drew a strong reaction online, with users lamenting the inconvenience. Laura Lee commented, “Been taking Aeroline for years since I don’t have to go all the way to TBS. Plus good service and comfortable bus. Hope Aeroline can resume services at its current locations.”
Another user, Kee Lan, wrote: “Is Aeroline being taken to task for being reliable and efficient? At the end of the day, it is still the customer's choice in using his/her preferred service.” - November 2, 2025
