AGC: Albert Tei’s complaint against Azam Baki classified as NFA

THE Attorney-General's Chambers (A-GC) has classified its investigation into allegations of criminal intimidation against former Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief Tan Sri Azam Baki as "no further action" (NFA).

In a statement, the AGC said it had reviewed the investigation paper submitted by police following a report lodged by Tei Jiann Cheing, also known as Albert Tei.

"A review of the investigation papers opened under Section 506 of the Penal Code found insufficient evidence to establish the offence of criminal intimidation," it said in a statement today.

Tei had earlier alleged criminal intimidation under Section 506 of the Penal Code.

"Following a comprehensive review of the investigation papers, the elements of criminal intimidation under Section 506 of the Penal Code could not be established.

“Accordingly, it has been decided that the investigation paper be classified as NFA,” it added. – June 10, 2026
