KOTA KINABALU: The Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) has warned that stern action will be taken against any statements or acts that could interfere with ongoing court proceedings.
The AGC said it is reviewing remarks made by Warisan president Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal regarding the Zara Qairina case during a political event in Kinabatangan on Sept 20, which may create public misconceptions and disrupt court processes.
It stressed that it would not hesitate to initiate contempt proceedings if warranted and reminded the public to refrain from making comments that may cause confusion or undermine the smooth running of court trials.
