Agent confirms Arsenal boss Arteta blocking Torreira from joining Valencia

Mikel Arteta has denied Lucas Torreira the chance to leave Arsenal despite the Uruguayan reaching an agreement with Valencia.

That is according to his agent Pablo Bentancur.

Torreira is desperate to depart the Emirates after spending last season at Fiorentina.

However, Arteta wants Torreira to be involved in training for now.

"We have a pre-agreement with Gattuso for Torreira to play in Valencia," Bentancur told Sport 890.

"Today there is an important meeting on this issue. Arsenal coach Arteta wants to have him in the pre-season.

"He had great numbers with Arsenal but we have pre-agreement with Valencia."

Juventus and Roma have also been linked with Torreira.
