YANG di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim has called for stronger security measures at all airports and entry points nationwide to curb drug smuggling and cross-border criminal activities.

The King said relevant ministries and agencies must strengthen enforcement, monitoring and cooperation to ensure the country’s gateways remain secure.

“Security at the country’s entry points must always be enhanced through more effective enforcement, continuous monitoring and close cooperation among all relevant agencies,” Sultan Ibrahim said in a statement issued by the Royal Press Office (RPO).

The matter was raised during Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s audience with the King at Istana Bukit Tunku here today.

The meeting, which lasted more than an hour, also saw Anwar briefing Sultan Ibrahim on the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report into Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) and current issues involving the Federal Land Development Authority (Felda).

Sultan Ibrahim stressed that investigations into the matters must be conducted thoroughly, with no compromise against any party found responsible.

“Do not allow anyone to escape action if they are truly found guilty. Most importantly, matters like this must not happen again,” the King said. – August 8, 2026
