Despite his disappointment, Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah was forced to accept the proposal to dissolve Parliament from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The Prime Minister made a request for the topic at an impromptu meeting session that began at midday yesterday, according to a statement from Datuk Pengelola Bijaya Diraja Datuk Seri Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin.

He clarified the request, saying, "His Majesty has granted the Prime Minister's request for the dissolution of the 14th Parliament with effect from today in line with His Majesty's powers as Yang di-Pertuan Agong as contained in Article 40(2)(b) and Article 55(2) of the Federal Constitution.

According to Astro Awani, His Royal Highness expressed his dissatisfaction with the existing state of affairs in politics, and he was forced to consent to the Prime Minister's plea to put the decision back in the hands of the electorate to choose a stable government.

In light of the North East Monsoon, which is expected to begin in the middle of November 2022, His Majesty expressed the hope that the Election Commission would conduct the 15th General Election soon.

Prime Minister Ismail Sabri made the announcement that the Parliament would be dissolved in order for the GE15 to take place.

On Monday at 3pm, the Prime Minister made the announcement in a Special Message that was aired from the Perdana Putra building in Putrajaya.

Ismail said in his message that he had previously met with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong on Sunday at noon to request permission to dissolve Parliament.

Ahmad Fadil stated, "His Majesty also underlined the need for a strong nation to ensure political stability and ongoing economic success for the benefit of the nation and the people as a whole."

Seri Paduka Baginda encourages everyone to pray so that the nation and its citizens would always be blessed, protected, and spared from all kinds of disasters, particularly floods.
