Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has refuted claims by Jelutong MP RSN Rayer that he intended to sabotage the MADANI Government, maintaining he has official documentary proof regarding the cancellation of rural development project SSTs in Sabah and Sarawak.

JASIN: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has denied allegations that he intended to sabotage the MADANI Government by revealing the cancellation or postponement of rural development projects in Sabah and Sarawak.

Ahmad Zahid, who is also Rural and Regional Development Minister, maintained that his remarks concerning the suspension or cancellation of Letters of Acceptance (SSTs) for the projects were factual, adding that he was prepared to produce official documents to substantiate his claims.

“I had no such intention (to sabotage the government). Whether the projects have been postponed or cancelled, the fact remains that there were instructions to cancel all SSTs that have been or are due to be issued.

“I have documentary evidence of the instructions. I can show it,” he told reporters after officiating the  MARA Higher Education and TVET Tour 2026 programme in Melaka here today.

Yesterday, Jelutong MP RSN Rayer, while interjecting during a debate in the Dewan Rakyat, questioned Ahmad Zahid’s statement concerning the cancellation of rural development projects in Sabah and Sarawak.

Rayer described the remarks as an attempt to sabotage the MADANI Government.
