Kota Kinabalu: Some 60 underprivileged students from four district education departments (PPD) braved the heavy downpour to receive basic assistance in a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) event yesterday organised by DRCA Management (Debt Restructuring Counselling Agency).
Pupils, still in uniform, who attended the ‘Help Them’ programme were handed school supplies and basic necessities such as rice, sugar, Milo, biscuits, cooking oil and mee.
Speaking at the event, Sabah Education Director Datuk Tah Nia Binti Hj Jaman highlighted the outreach effort would greatly lessen the burden of pupils whose families are from the bottom 40 (B40) category, and called for more similar CSR initiatives to be carried out for B40 students.
