Sarawak’s Air Borneo will operate MASwings routes from Jan 2026, maintaining current fares and services

KUCHING: The Sarawak government-owned Air Borneo has committed to maintaining current ticket prices across all Borneo aviation routes when it assumes full operational control from MASwings on January 1, 2026.

In a statement released today, the airline confirmed that pricing structures and flight paths currently serviced by MASwings will continue without modification following the transition.

Ticket reservations through Air Borneo became available on December 10. The carrier has established dedicated customer support channels, including a toll-free hotline at 1-300-22-1388 for domestic callers and a direct line at 082-537555.

According to Air Borneo, the route network and fare framework mirror MASwings’ existing operations exactly. This approach ensures uninterrupted Rural Air Services (RAS) that communities depend on, supported by federal subsidies.

“Future pricing modifications would only occur following negotiations and mutual agreement on a new RAS arrangement with federal authorities,” the airline stated.

Air Borneo emphasized its commitment to service reliability for passengers and stakeholders throughout the transition period.

MASwings currently operates under Malaysia Airlines’ ownership.
