Citing operational issues due to aircraft maintenance, AirAsia is pulling the plug on its Kuching-Penang direct flights. The axe is expected to commence on Mar. 1.

Moving forward, the flight will make a stopover at KLIA instead.

The airline offers affected passengers THREE alternatives: refund, credit account or change of flight (FOC).

Refund

- Done via the AirAsia website or AVA (on app).

Credit account

- Passengers can retain the booking value for 730 days (starting on issued date). This mode offers future flight bookings and add-ons.

Change of flight

- One-time validity within 30 days of the initial departure date (same route only).

Besides an email notification, there's also a FlyThru alternative where passengers will be diverted to KLIA2 as a way to prevent trevelling disruption.
