Aircraft cabin maker to expand in PH

AIRCRAFT cabin products manufacturer B/E Aerospace B.V. is expanding its operations in the country, the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) said on Tuesday.

PEZA Director General Tereso Panga and B/E CEO and General Manager Mary DeStaffan recently signed a supplemental agreement on B/E‘s expansion plans, witnessed by PEZA Deputy Director General Vivian Santos and B/E Chief Finance Officer Allan Hall.

The agreement allows B/E to further streamline its aerospace manufacturing facilities at the First Philippine Industrial Park-Special Economic Zone (FPIP-SEZ) in Sto. Tomas City, Batangas.

It likewise enables the company to include essential materials and consumables used in the manufacturing and deployment of its products.

It is an affiliate of the North Carolina-based Collins Aerospace, a global supplier of intelligent, integrated solutions for the aerospace and defense industries, with over 80,000 employees and more than 250 sites worldwide. It specializes in avionics, power controls, cabin interiors, and mission systems for commercial and military customers.

B/E, which started operation in 2010, makes aircraft cabin seating, lighting, oxygen systems, food and beverage preparation and storage equipment, galleys and lavatories.

It likewise repairs, maintains, services and modifies aircraft parts and related aerospace interior systems.

“Every development by our existing locators sends a strong signal to the global market that the Philippines is ready for more advanced manufacturing investments,” Panga said.

The country‘s aerospace product exports totaled $590.2 million in 2024 and increased to $603.1 million in the first nine months of 2025, according to the Board of Investments.

Its export markets include the United States, Singapore, France and China.
