LABUAN: Labuan Women’s Affairs Chief Fauziah Datuk Din suggested that the Federal Territories Ministry help resolve the on-shelf shortage of eggs and subsidised cooking oil as well as sugar by getting supplies from peninsula.
Fauziah said: “Labuan faced a similar situation some months back and the FT Minister Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim did a commendable job by successfully arranging eggs and cooking oil to be airlifted to Labuan with the assistance of the Air Force.
She said Labuan being an island state, unlike other towns, were more often subjected to disruptions in the supply chain, “as such an ad hoc plan should be in place for quick mobilisation to overcome shortages in Labuan.”
