  • Air New Zealand is introducing "Skynest" bunk beds, allowing economy passengers to lie flat on select ultra-long-haul flights.
  • Bookings for the Skynest open next month for travel from November, initially on routes between New York and Auckland.
  • The new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft will feature six lie-flat pods, equipped with mattresses, bedding, privacy curtains, and charging ports.
  • These pods are available as an add-on for economy and premium economy passengers, with sessions limited to four hours and priced from $495 NZD (£215).
  • The initiative aims to make long-haul travel to and from New Zealand more manageable, enhancing the journey for passengers.
