Apple has introduced AirPods 5 in Malaysia, bringing Active Noise Cancellation to its latest open-ear earbuds at a starting price of RM599. A second version with a Wireless Charging Case costs RM699, with Malaysian pre-orders beginning Friday, September 11 and in-store availability from September 18.
ANC gets stronger without silicone ear tips
The headline feature is improved Active Noise Cancellation in an open-ear design. Apple says AirPods 5 can remove up to 50% more external noise than AirPods 4 with ANC, using a new multiport acoustic architecture and upgraded computational audio algorithms.
Transparency mode has also been improved to reproduce nearby voices and environmental sounds more naturally. Adaptive Audio can automatically blend ANC and Transparency depending on the surroundings, while Conversation Awareness reduces media volume when the wearer starts speaking.
New acoustic architecture and Adaptive EQ

Apple has reworked the acoustic system with a new multiport architecture inspired by AirPods Pro 3, alongside next-generation Adaptive EQ. The earbuds also support Siri head gestures, allowing users to respond without speaking in supported situations.
Durability has been improved with better resistance to dust, sweat and water, making the new AirPods more suitable for workouts and everyday use. Buyers choosing the RM699 Wireless Charging Case version also get longer battery life and on-stem volume control.
AirPods 5 Malaysia price and availability
AirPods 5 are priced at RM599 in Malaysia, while AirPods 5 with Wireless Charging Case cost RM699. Pre-orders begin September 11 and the earbuds will be available in stores from September 18.
The pricing makes AirPods 5 particularly interesting for iPhone users who want ANC without moving to the in-ear fit of AirPods Pro. With Apple bringing stronger noise cancellation into its open-ear design, the distinction between its standard and Pro earbuds is getting considerably smaller.
