Ajax chief Edwin van der Sar admits Lucas Ocampos' deal was a flop.
Ocampos arrived on-loan from Sevilla last summer, but was returned to Spain last month. The deal cost Ajax 8m in total.
Van der Sar said on Rondo: "You make a composition in advance, together with the scouting team: what are the chances in the transfer area? You prefer to prepare that as well as possible, so that the reports are all there and everyone has viewed the player five or six times."
But it went wrong with Ocampos, Van der Sar admits.
"The last period has been a bit rushed and the right process has not been followed, which we normally have to stand for as Ajax."
