
Kota Kinabalu: Akbar Mohd Said from Kudat Golf Club outshone other tournament favourites to capture the 33rd KGC (Kinabalu Golf Club) Amateur Open title on Sunday.
His three-day total of 221 (81-72-68) saw him finish 10 shots ahead of 2023 SEA Games representative Hariz Hezri (78-77-76) followed by four-time winner Lee Ka Tung who was another two shots adrift (80-74-79).

The nett title was won by Mohd Ridwan Wong (140 - 70, 70) and in second place was Sabaruddin Ismail (143 - 75, 68) with Edi Rizal Kassim in third (147 - 79, 68).
In the invitees category, the gross title went to Edward Danbulok (84) followed by Ronnie Pancratius (85) and Datuk Joannes Solidau (88), while the top three invitees nett winners were Patrick Petrus (65), Yusop Jainal (69) and Cyriany Donysius (72).
