AKPS to gain access to KLIA CCTV control room to strengthen security controls and address blind spots at Malaysia’s main entry point

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) will be given access to the Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) closed-circuit television (CCTV) control room at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to enhance security controls at the country’s entry points.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the matter had been discussed with MAHB and an agreement had been reached on the mechanism, although implementation was still at the administrative stage.

“How was it possible for it to spread so widely immediately after the incident? If the source involves the 5,000 CCTVs, that implies it falls under MAHB’s control.

“Whether the leak originated there or involved secondary recordings and the like is also a focus of the investigation committee looking into the case,” he said.

Bagi meningkatkan lagi kawalan keselamatan di KLIA, Saifuddin Nasution berkata AKPS juga akan melen
