Al-Ittihad are ready to break the world transfer record to land Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah.

The Egypt international saw Liverpool reject an attempt from Al-Ittihad last summer, but he is expected to leave Anfield later this year.

The Athletic says Al-Ittihad are prepared to offer 234m to Liverpool for Salah.

The deal would surpass the world record 222m PSG paid Barcelona for Neymar.

Salah's contract runs until the summer of 2025.
