Tuaran: People driving on the Kampung Batangan Bridge near Sungai Tuaran were alarmed to see a crocodile by the river on Sunday.
A 19-second video clip that was circulated on Facebook showed a three-meter crocodile with its mouth open.
The area was swamped with curious bystanders who came to see the crocodile after the clip went viral.
Angler, Hamzah Haron, 35, said the site was a famous spot for fishermen for a long time and that several individuals have claimed seeing crocodiles nearby.

“But some fisherman I recently made friends say they saw a crocodile in the river,” he claimed.
He added that he had recently moved to Tuaran and that his house is not too far from the area where the crocodile was rumoured to have been seen.
He claimed he rushed to the scene as soon as the video went viral on social media.
“When I got there around 2pm, the place was already crowded with people who wanted to see the reptile.”
For the sake of my safety and the safety of my family, I will not fish here after seeing the crocodile with my own eyes, he said.
The crocodile, according to bystanders, remained by the river for over two hours before heading back to the riverbed.
It is understood that the Tuaran Civil Defence Force has yet to receive any complaints regarding the sighting.
Following reports of crocodile sightings in the area, Frenkey Nyuk, a Tuaran resident, posted a photo on the Tuaran Kita Page warning fishermen in Tuaran to exercise caution.
