Former Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez has paid tribute to Mesut Ozil after the latter announced his retirement.
The former German international, who was also a Gunner for several seasons, has called it quits at the age of 34.
Ozil's illustrious career saw him win the World Cup, La Liga, and countless other trophies with Real Madrid and Arsenal.
When Ozil posted about his retirement on social media, Marseille striker Sanchez was one of many to respond.
He wrote: We really understood each other, my friend Mesut. Wishing you the best in your next chapter".
The Chilean is presently playing for Marseille in Ligue 1 after a mixed stint at Inter Milan.
