The all-new 2026 Lexus ES made its global debut at the Auto Shanghai 2025. The eighth-generation ES introduces both hybrid models and Lexus’s first ES battery electric vehicles (BEVs), available in front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations.
Revolutionary Design Philosophy
Drawing inspiration from the next-generation LF-ZC concept, the 2026 ES introduces Lexus’s new design language called “Clean Tech x Elegance.” The exterior features a sleek, flowing silhouette with the new-generation spindle body specifically engineered to accommodate electrification.
The sedan’s proportions have been carefully crafted, with the wheelbase extended by 3 inches and overall length increased by approximately 6.5 inches compared to its predecessor. This results in a more spacious cabin while maintaining the ES’s signature elegant profile.
Electrified Performance Options
The 2026 ES lineup offers multiple powertrain options:
- ES 350h: Features an enhanced sixth-generation 2.5-liter hybrid system with an integrated eAxle that combines the power control unit and transaxle for improved efficiency and reduced vibration
- ES 350e: The front-wheel drive BEV model with an impressive manufacturer-estimated range of 300 miles (with 19-inch wheels)
- ES 500e: The all-wheel drive BEV equipped with DIRECT4 AWD technology that continuously adjusts torque distribution between front and rear wheels
