Kota Kinabalu:SM All Saints recently held its 73rd Excellence Awards Ceremony to recognise the outstanding academic achievements of its students.

The event, which took place in the school hall, was attended by the school’s Parent-Teacher Association President Robert Lipon, SM All Saints Principal Dr Mary Gambidau, parents, honoured students and teachers.

The ceremony began with a welcome speech by Mary, who congratulated the successful students and emphasized the importance of hard work and dedication in achieving success.

“The achievements we celebrate today are the result of hard work, discipline, and support from all parties, including parents and teachers,” she said.

SM All Saints achieved a GPS (School Average Grade) of 4.04, with a 90.30 per cent pass rate for the SPM certificate, out of 301 candidates.

A total of 270 candidates qualified for the certificate, with 15 students obtaining all A grades in every subject.

Additionally, 10 subject departments successfully improved their GPMP (Subject Grade Point Average) in 2023, including Malay Language, English Language, Islamic Studies, Science, Additional Mathematics, Design and Technology, Chemistry, Sports Science, Chinese Language, and Bible Knowledge.

The main award, the SPM Outstanding Student Award for 2023, was presented to 15 top-performing students. These students achieved impressive results, with multiple A+ and A grades across their subjects.

Various other awards were also presented, such as the SPM Near Miss Excellence Award, Best Subject Award for Form Four Final Summative Examination, Best Results by Class for Form Four Final Summative Examination, Best Results by Form in the 2023 Academic Session Final Test and the Subject Grade Point Average Improvement Award for SPM 2023.
