A foreign tourist has raised concerns about what he described as a “critical privacy and security matter” at a popular hotel in Kuala Lumpur.
Taking to the Travel Malaysia Facebook group, the tourist, Ahmed Imtiaz, claimed that a staff member at the hotel had allegedly been secretly filming guests at the rooftop pool, especially women in swimwear, without their consent. Worse, the perpetrator then posted the videos and photos to a Facebook page accompanied by lewd captions.

Addressing the hotel directly in his post, Ahmed Imtiaz wrote:
“I am writing to bring a critical privacy and security matter. It has come to my attention that a staff member at your property, believed to be a Bangladeshi national working on hotel grounds, is regularly filming guests without their knowledge or consent. These recordings primarily target female guests in swimwear and are being publicly uploaded to a personal Facebook page.
“This behaviour constitutes a severe breach of guest privacy, safety, and professional ethics, and poses a direct risk to your establishment’s reputation and guest trust. I strongly urge management and security to review this matter immediately, conduct a thorough investigation, and take appropriate action to ensure the safety and privacy of your guests.”
The ‘voyeur’ recordings were uploaded to a Facebook page with a massive audience
Attached to the post are a link to the perpetrator’s Facebook page and several screenshots of its content.
Concerningly, the page has over 271,000 followers and features many videos and photos of women in revealing swimwear, most of which are believed to have been taken without their knowledge or consent.
One recent post shows a woman in a bikini swimming in the rooftop pool, accompanied by a lewd caption written in Bengali targeting her, which roughly translates to: “Come to Malaysia to see all these pink.”
Another post before that features a woman in swimwear taking a photo near the pool, with a post written in Bengali saying, “Look at this, friend, Malaysia is all pink.”
The same woman is featured in another post captioned, “It will be 100% pink, friend.”
Complaint lodged with the hotel management
In the comments section of the post calling out the actions of the alleged hotel staff member, Ahmed Imtiaz claimed that he had notified the property regarding the matter but has yet to receive an update.
He further said that he is not currently in Malaysia; hence, he can’t lodge a report with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).
Meanwhile, one netizen seemingly corroborated the claim, claiming that some guests at the hotel felt so uncomfortable with the staff member’s actions that they left the premises out of disgust.
As of the time of writing, the Facebook page is still up, and no statements have been released by the hotel addressing the allegations.
