Kota Kinabalu: Members of the Hospital Visiting Board (ALPH) act as a liaison between the hospital and the community.
Its chairman, Harjono Harno said ALPH played a role in positive public communication by giving clear information to the community about the hospital’s facilities and services.
“In addition, we also conducted visits to identify the problems faced by hospitals throughout Malaysia in relation to services for patients, especially those with thalassemia.
“ALPH has also donated four aluminium chairs (five-seater link) for ward use because this is one of the main needs of patients or families while waiting for treatment.
“The plan to donate heavy-duty wheelchairs for use by the hospital community is currently under discussion,” he said while attending an informal reception in conjunction with the Chinese New Year 2023 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Auditorium which was also attended by its Director, Dr William Gotulis and Sabah Thalassemia Association President, Francis Mujim.
Attending the event was the wife of the Head of State Toh Puan Norlidah Datuk R.M Jasni who also carried out the donation ceremony for 55 Thalassemia patients.
The ceremony held for the first time in collaboration with the Sabah Thalassemia Association and the management of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital aimed to celebrate people who are facing life trials, especially thalassemia patients.
Meanwhile, Al-Quran knowledge needs to be nurtured among Muslims through classes.
The Head of State’s wife, Toh Puan Norlidah R.M Jasni said studying in classes held in mosques or suraus was relevant and beneficial to students and teaching staff.
“In enriching this knowledge, parents play an important role in encouraging children to learn and appreciate the Al-Quran.
“Al-Quran study classes are now held in mosques, suraus in addition to formal schools and online learning that can also be followed through social media,” she said at Istana Seri Kinabalu.
Toh Puan Norlidah who is also the Advisor of the Nur Jauhar Foundation (YNJ) said in the Yasin and Tahlil Reading Ceremony and the Thanksgiving Prayer in conjunction with the departure of her group to the Holy Land to perform Umrah, starting this Saturday.
The ceremony organised by Yayasan Nur Jauhar (YNJ) brought together about 100 participants who attended study classes at the mosque from around the districts of Kota Kinabalu, Penampang, Putatan, and the Activities association for the Elderly (PAWE) Kota Kinabalu.
