Galatasaray are eager to hand Juan Mata a new contract.
Barely a month into his new career in Turkey, the former Manchester United midfielder has already done enough for Gala directors to consider offering new terms.
Mata signed for one year with an option for another. He arrived on a free transfer from United. The option will be activated automatically if Mata plays at least 45 minutes in 20 official games for Galatasaray, across all competitions.
However, such has been his impact, that Gala coaching staff are already recommending he be handed a deal to 2024.
Now 34, Mata has played 33 official minutes with Galatasaray, in addition to one official start.
