Kota Kinabalu: Labuan Chamber of Commerce (LCC) Chairman Daniel Doughty said any discussion on Labuan’s future must transcend political rhetoric and require Sabah’s leaders to demonstrate the benefits of the island being returned.
He noted that talk on Labuan’s return to Sabah mirrored that of the proposed Labuan bridge. “It resurfaces before or during election without yielding substantial progress.
“Some ask when will Sabah get back its continental shelf as per MA63 when even the return of Labuan is already a struggle?” he said.
