Just as a family provides support, shared history. and a sense of belonging, an active alumni network acts as a “bridge” connecting past. present, and future generations of the institution's community. I know of many experienced alumni act as mentors, offering guidance and networking opportunities to younger graduates, similar to elders guiding the next generation. Alumni often help fellow graduates land jobs in their respective companies, acting as a trusted professional safety net. Based on my personal experience, successful alumni relations are not just transactional; they're built on emotional values of purpose, allowing alumni to feel strongly “embraced” by our alma mater, the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) at Makati City in the Philippines.
In preserving tradition, Dr. Sugar Han, President of AIM Alumni Association Korea (AAAK) aptly said “Alumni act as stewards of our institution's history, preserving culture and traditions while fostering a sense of pride and shared achievements. The reminiscing and connection events like reunions, visits & homecomings strengthen the familial bond, allowing graduates to reconnect with classmates, peers, mentors, and professors for strategic advantages.”

Dr. Muzaffar Ahmed, President AIM Alumni Association Bangladesh, added "The reputation of the university and its degrees depends on the success of its alumni, which increases the value of every graduate's degree. Alumni networks offer access to political, business & social contacts, benefiting both the institution's research projects & the individual's career. These relationships are 'the only stakeholders you cannot exchange,' enduring just like a family.”

When alumni achieve success in their careers, it reflects positively on the strong alumni building. Evidently, alumni Vinod Muralidharan revealed that “Over the past six months, I have been actively exploring for new opportunities, and I am glad to share that I will be taking on the role of Regional Vice President for the Axis Channel at Axis Max Life. In this capacity, I will be responsible for the markets across Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha, with my base location in Ranchi. I would like to sincerely thank AIM Alumni Association India (AAAI) for the constant support and encouragement. A special note of gratitude to our AAAI President Nikhil Kamath for always being supportive & helping me connect with the right people along the way.”
