Amancio Amaro has been voted new honorary president of Real Madrid.
Amancio, who was a Real player between 1962 and 1976, succeeds Paco Gento, who held the position from October 2016 until his passing last January.
Of the 1,464 votes cast, there were three abstentions, three against and 1,458 in favour.
After his win was confirmed, Amancio said: "I shouldn't say anything, I'm very excited.
"It is an honour for me and I would like to put into words everything I feel.
"My dear Paco Gento and Di Stéfano have been my predecessors, we all try to help the institution, because the club is above any name. I hope to be at the height of this very special position.
"Thank you from the bottom of my heart."
