Amazon Prime Day is almost here — everything to know plus the best early deals so far

Amazon Prime Day is now under a week away, and deals are already starting to ramp up at the retailer. If it feels a little early this year, no, you’re not mistaken, this summer sale normally takes place in July. Earlier in the year, Amazon announced it would be bringing the event forward, running from June 23 through June 26.

As always, you can expect a massive amount of deals and discounts from the retailer, from beauty and fashion to outdoor grills and coffee makers. My tip is to get prepared. Having a clear idea of what you want to buy before the sale starts can help you avoid impulse purchases, stick to your budget, and make the most of the discounts on products you actually want.

We’re still waiting for the official sale to start, but as always, Amazon has already dropped discounts on products like earbuds and robot vacuums. With just a few days to go, here’s everything you need to know so far. We’ve also rounded up some of the best early Prime Day deals live right now.

What is Amazon Prime Day?

Amazon Prime Day is the retailer’s annual limited-time sale exclusively for Prime members.

What was once a one-day sale in 2015 (started to celebrate its 20th anniversary) has since grown into a multi-day shopping event that rivals Black Friday, featuring some of the biggest price drops across key categories, including tech, appliances, fashion, beauty, and everyday essentials.

When is Amazon Prime Day 2026?

Amazon Prime Day 2026 will run from June 23 through June 26.

Best early Amazon Prime Day deals to shop now

Sony WH-1000XM5 noise cancelling headphones: Was $399.99, now $278, Amazon.com

 (Sony)

You can save nearly 40 per cent on Sony’s WH-1000XM5 noise-cancelling headphones. Senior tech critic, Alex Lee, was impressed by their “mind-blowing sound quality”. Their “noise cancellation is pretty phenomenal”, too. They boast 30 hours of battery life with noise-cancelling on, and 40 hours with it off, and they’re extremely comfortable to wear.

Garmin forerunner 970: Was $749.99, now $649.99, Amazon.com

 (Lauren Wingenroth/The Independent)

The Garmin forerunner 970 was named the best running watch in fitness writer Lauren Wingenwroth’s review. She said it “combines all the running features and stats you could need with smartwatch features, including contactless payments, music storage, and Bluetooth calling”. It also features very accurate GPS, a plethora of performance and health stats and analytics, and a flashlight.

Nespresso vertuo next: Was $179, now $107.99, Amazon.com

The vertuo next can brew espresso and full-size coffee with the push of a button (Brigitt Earley/The Independent)

If you’re looking for a fuss-free and convenient way to make your morning coffee, a Nespresso machine might be the answer. This single-serve coffee maker, the vertuo next, was well praised in our review. It is “sleek, space-saving, and delivers consistently great coffee powered by a unique barcode brewing system”, noted our tester. “The machine can also brew different cup sizes (5oz, 8oz, 12oz, and 18oz coffees, plus a single or double espresso) based on the pod you use.”

Jetboil genesis basecamp system: Was $449.99, now $345.94, Amazon.com

 (Jetboil)

Earning a spot in outdoor gear tester Rachel Cavanaugh’s review of the best portable grills, the Jetboil genesis basecamp system is an “all-in-one powerhouse for group meals, road trips, and car camping setups where space is limited but serious cooking is still on the menu”. The double burner is “incredibly easy to transport” because it folds up “accordion-style into a compact clamshell shape”, they added.

Beats powerbeats fit: Was $199.99, now $169.99, Amazon.com

 (Beats)

Another favorite of Lauren Wingenrot. The Beats powerbeats fit were found to be the best earbuds for running. She was impressed by the “comfortable and secure fit” during high-intensity runs, as well as the “solid noise canceling and transparency modes”.

Eufy X10 pro omni robot vacuum cleaner: Was $699.99, now $479.98, Amazon.com

 (Eufy)

One of our IndyBest writers called this the most “hands-off” robot vacuum they had tested, so if you’re looking for a model to do all the work for you, you’ve found it. “The only thing you need to do is change the water in the base station every seven days and swap out the dust bag every couple of months. Other than that, it cleans and mops for you,” they wrote in their review.

Garmin forerunner 265: Was $449.99, now $349.99, Amazon.com

 (Garmin)

When marathoner Jennifer Heimlich reviewed the best fitness trackers, the Garmin forerunner 265 took the top spot. Despite being almost half the price of some of Garmin’s more advanced offerings, Jennifer wrote that you still get “highly accurate GPS tracking and personalized training plans with daily workout suggestions based on how well your recent sessions have gone and how your body is recovering from them.”

Bose ultra open earbuds: Was $299, now $199, Amazon.com

 (Bose)

When our tech critic David Phelan reviewed the best wireless earbuds, he ranked these the best for comfort. The design is ideal for listening to music while also staying aware of your surroundings, since they hook around your ear, rather than go into it. He said: “An auto volume feature means the earbuds compensate if the noise around you gets louder, maintaining the same listening volume and edging the level back to where it was when you’ve stepped out of the noisy store or away from the gusty wind buffeting your ears.”
