Vinod Bhatia, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Ambala Division, flagged off the 150 locomotive built at the Electric Loco Shed in Saharanpur on Thursday.

The Ambala Division achieved a significant milestone with the commissioning of its 150 locomotive. Notably, it was also the 100 locomotive equipped with the indigenous ‘Kavach’ safety system.

Speaking on the occasion, the DRM said that state-of-the-art indigenous technologies such as ‘Kavach’ are playing a crucial role in further strengthening the safety infrastructure of Indian Railways. He added that the successful commissioning of the 150 locomotive reflects the technical expertise and operational efficiency of the Electric Loco Shed, Saharanpur.

He further said that the installation of the ‘Kavach’ system in 100 locomotives demonstrates the division’s proactive contribution towards expanding advanced safety systems across Indian Railways.

Meanwhile, Yashanjit Singh, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of the Ambala Division, said that the achievement marks a significant step towards the modernisation, safety enhancement and operational excellence of Indian Railways.

He added that the division remains committed to maintaining high standards of safety, reliability and operational excellence, while continuing to adopt new technologies.
