Amira Aisya Abd Aziz is elected MUDA president at the party’s inaugural election, leading a new central executive committee for the 2026-2029 term
PETALING JAYA: Amira Aisya Abd Aziz has been elected as the new president of the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (MUDA).
She will lead the party for the 2026-2029 term following the party’s inaugural election and Annual General Meeting.
The Puteri Wangsa assemblyman was previously serving as MUDA’s acting president. Her election was confirmed by the newly formed 25-member central executive committee (CEC).
MUDA Information Chief Rasid Abu Bakar explained the electoral process. “Today’s election began with the selection of 25 CEC members elected by delegates throughout the country,” he said.
He added that a CEC meeting was held immediately after to elect the top leadership posts. Thirty-one candidates had contested for the 25 CEC seats available.
The party was previously led by Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman. He resigned from the presidency on November 9, 2023.
The Registrar of Societies officially approved MUDA as a political party on December 23, 2021. The newly elected leadership for the 2026-2029 term includes Zaidel Baharuddin as Deputy President.
Five Vice-Presidents were also elected: Faezrah Rizalman, Leben Siddarth, Zarul Afiq, Dobby Chew and Dr R Siva Prakash.
Rasid Abu Bakar retains his role as Information Chief, while Ainie Haziqah was elected as Secretary-General.
