KUALA LUMPUR – PKR has announced the appointment of its vice-president, Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, as the party’s joint election director, replacing deputy president Nurul Izzah Anwar.

PKR secretary-general Datuk Fuziah Salleh said Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail will continue serving as joint election director.

According to Fuziah, the decision was made following a PKR Political Bureau meeting held yesterday.

“The PKR Political Bureau met and agreed on several strategic restructuring measures to strengthen the party’s preparedness for the upcoming elections,” she said in a statement today.

Fuziah said Nurul Izzah will now focus on developing the party machinery’s capacity and strengthening organisational groundwork.

She added that the appointment is part of efforts to restructure PKR’s election machinery to ensure a more organised and comprehensive approach at all levels.

“This restructuring also continues the groundwork that has already been established, including strengthening election structures and improving coordination between state and division levels,” she said.

Meanwhile, Fuziah also announced the appointments of Datuk Azman Abidin and Datuk Ruji Ubi as directors of the party’s Main Election Operations Room.

She said the move aims to strengthen coordination in strategy, field operations and monitoring of party activities. – May 26, 2026.
