Angkatan Muda Keadilan has submitted names to the candidate selection committee for the upcoming state elections, says its chief Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim.
IPOH: Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) has identified several potential candidates to be fielded in the upcoming Johor and Negeri Sembilan state elections.
Its chief Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim said he has submitted the list of names to the candidate selection committee for evaluation.
“We recognise the fact that in these elections, around 50 to 55 per cent of voters are aged 45 and below. Therefore, this factor is important in our efforts to strengthen support and convince voters to back us,” he said.
Muhammad Kamil, who is also the political secretary to Finance Minister, said this after officiating the 2026 Academic Excellence Awards ceremony here today.
He added that the criteria for selecting young candidates are not based solely on age, but also take into account their qualifications, capabilities and ability to administer the state.
At the same time, he said AMK machinery nationwide had been instructed to mobilise on the ground to help the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition secure victory in both state elections.
The Election Commission (EC) has set July 11 and Aug 1 as the polling dates for the Johor and Negeri Sembilan state elections, respectively.
