Former Liverpool star Luis Garcia is backing Ruben Amorim for the Anfield job.
The Sporting CP coach is regarded as favourite to succeed Jurgen Klopp at the end of the season.
Garcia told CBS: I had the opportunity to meet him on the coaching course we did together, he is very honest, professional and he has already proven it.
"He can bring something different. He is a fantastic candidate."
However, former Reds teammate Jason McAteer says: He did a great job. He won the championship, he's respected, he's a young coach and he's had a decent career. But are you ready for the Premier League? I'm not sure. I don't think he's the right man."
