Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has revealed his incredible phone call when he was Everton manager.

The Spaniard, who has taken Real to yet another Champions League final this season, was at the Toffees when Real came calling.

He coached the Merseyside team for 18 months from December 2019, but left in the summer of 2021.

Ancelotti told reporters this week: "I called to see if I could sign players for Everton and asked if they already had a coach.

"I said they had to sign the best for Madrid. And I said they had forgotten about 2014."

Ancelotti admitted at the time that it was only Real that could have gotten him to break his contract with Everton.
