Real Madrid are into the Club World Cup final after beating Al Ahly 4-1 on Wednesday in Morocco.

Real's goals came from Vinicius Jr, Fede Valverde, Rodrygo and Sergio Arribas.

Real Madrid struck first just before the break. In the 42nd minute, Vinicius made a good interception high up the park and broke through on goal before dinking over the keeper.

Inside a minute after the restart, Luka Modric threaded a pass to Vini Jr, whose shot was parried. Valverde was the quickest to it and sat the keeper down with a clever feint before smashing home.

The Spanish side appeared to be coasting after that, but Al Ahly's enthusiasm didn't wane. A clumsy challenge from Eduardo Camavinga gifted the Egyptian team a penalty and Ali Maaloul stepped up to make it 2-1.

The Europeans would seal it though in stoppage time with two goals. First, Rodrygo applied a cool finish after a fine team move.

Then, 21-year-old Sergio Arribas, brought on moments earlier by Carlo Ancelotti, fired in a fourth with a low left-footed shot from inside the area after the ball broke to him from a freekick.

On Saturday, Real Madrid will take on Saudi side Al-Hilal in the Club World Cup final.

Real coach Carlo Ancelotti later said: "We controlled the match well for an hour, but then we thought it was done and it opened up. We then finished well. The team's improving and we did well today because it was a match where we had everything to lose and nothing to win. We controlled the game pretty well. It's a great feeling to reach the final."

"When it was 2-0 it looked like we'd won the game and that's not the way football is. We slowed down and thought we'd won. We have to play well and remain focused until the final whistle. It was like that for 10 or 15 minutes until Modri's penalty."
