Ancient Roman shipwreck discovered off coast of Sicily

An ancient Roman shipwreck has been discovered off the coast of Sicily, near Italy.

The ship was believed to be more than 2,000 years old but was still full of well-intact ceramic jars used to transport ancient wine, oil, and grain.

Specialist free diver, Giacomo De Mola, discovered the shipwreck 150 feet under the surface near Mazara del Vallo after receiving a tip from local fishermen.

“This is, without a doubt, the most incredible discovery of my life,” said Mola in a post on social media.
