KUALA LUMPUR – Nylex (Malaysia) Bhd, a 42.2 per cent-owned subsidiary of Ancom Nylex Bhd, has received a letter of intent (LOI) from the government for a proposed public-private partnership (PPP) rail project in Iskandar Malaysia.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the company said the government has granted approval in principle to a consortium comprising DOM Industries (M) Sdn Bhd, MMC Engineering Sdn Bhd, BTS Group Holdings Public Company Ltd, and Nylex to undertake the Iskandar Malaysia Public Land Transport Development Project.

The project, spearheaded by the agricultural and industrial chemical manufacturer, entails developing a medium-capacity rail system under a PPP framework.

The consortium will now enter into negotiations with the government to finalise the project’s terms and conditions. – May 11, 2026
